Khandra College Library

A Library is truly a heart of any academic Institution. Therefore, from that point-of-view, a College Library can easily be considered as a Knowledge Hub of the College for all its academic functionings. The Khandra College Library was initiated along with the establishment of the College in the year 1981. At present, the Library has a total of around 16, 841 Text Books covering the subjects like Arts, Science and Commerce. Moreover, it has around 177 Reference Books and 60 Rare Books collection. The Library receive grants from the government bodies like University Grants Commission (UGC), Eastern Coalfields Limited (E.C.L), Govt. of West Bengal etc. The college authority under the able ladership of our respected Principal is trying to provide their utmost efforts for all-round improvent of our Library regarding its collections, renovation and other concerned matters. The students, faculties and staff can easily have a remote aceess to the bibliographic details of books through OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) in the Library. Due to enormous applications of Information and Communicatin Technologies (ICT) in modern Libraries, there has been an everincreasing demand of scholarly information in digital environment. In order to face this challenge and Keeping in mind, the diversified facilities that an Autiomated and Integrated Library Management Systems (ILMS) offer, Library automation work using Library Management Softwares (LMSs) has been undertaken by our College. The entire automation programme is going under process.

Library Rules

  • Our Library activities have been guided by a set of comprehensive rules as resolved in the Library Committee Meeting headed by the Hon’ble Principal of the College.

    The Library remains open from 10:20 A.M. to 4:30 P.M for all working days except Sunday and for all gazetted holidays.

    Library Membership

    All students, faculty members and employees of the college are eligible for Library membership. The Library membership facility is well extended for Permanent Full Time Teachers (FTT), Guest Faculties, Govt. Approved Part-Time Teachers (PTT), Permanent and Casual Staff. Ex-Teachers and Students are also allowed to use Library with prior permission on behalf of the college authority on some urgent situation.
